Welcome to winter commencement at the University of Maryland. I would like to extend a warm welcome to family and friends of the graduates, who may be visiting for the first time. We are very proud of our campus, and I hope you will take the opportunity to explore it as you celebrate this joyous occasion.

 

Commencement is a time of great excitement and promise. It is a time to look back at our graduates' growth and look forward to their future achievements. The talents and achievements of this class are remarkable. Their continuing contributions undoubtedly will improve society and better our future.
